Handwriting Program

Handwriting can be a frustrating daily activity for many children. It is a fine motor task that can occupy up to 60% of an elementary school child’s day. Write On! is offered by our occupational therapists to improve your child’s handwriting skills.

Write On!:

• Motivates your child to practice their fine motor skills
• Increases core and upper body strength, endurance and attention, key components to handwriting success
• Is customized to address the difficulties unique to your child

The program addresses foundational handwriting skills utilizing the dynamics of a peer setting to help motivate children.  In this program, led by a pediatric occupational therapist, children participate in sessions combining sensori-motor activities with peers and individual handwriting practice. Sessions may run throughout the year based on expressed interest and suitable candidates.
