“There is warmth you feel from the moment you walk in the door at Pathways Center. You feel assured your child is receiving the best from therapists who really care about each child.”

About Us
Welcome from the Executive Director
We thank you for visiting our website. It is with great pleasure that I serve as Pathways Center’s Executive Director. I have had the good fortune to be at Pathways since we first opened in 1985 and the organization has undergone many changes. The one constant, however, has been our belief that every child and family deserves a brighter future. Through innovation and a commitment to excellence, Pathways Center in Glenview is one of the nation’s leading pediatric therapy centers.
Our staff of highly trained and dedicated physical, occupational, and speech therapists provides services and intervention to more than 200 children and their families. Since 1985, Pathways Center has shown families the positive effect that best practice, evidenced based interventions can have on a child’s life. We hope our family-centered approach to therapy can serve as a model for other outpatient therapy centers throughout the country.
At Pathways Center we put the family at the heart of our mission. We work as a team with parents and children to answer questions, provide guidance, and help integrate therapy into daily life. Parents feel supported by our therapy team and by other parents who have “walked the walk.” If you are a parent, we want you to know that you are not alone—at Pathways you are part of a community of understanding. We hope you find this website helpful. If you would like any additional information about Pathways Center, feel free to call us at 847-729-6220 or email us at info@pathwayscenter.org.
Sincerely,
Gay Girolami, PT, MS
Executive Director
Why is Pathways Center Non-profit?
Our family-focused therapy center was established to meet the needs of children and their families who, prior to Pathways, were traveling long distances to receive quality therapy. We strive to meet the needs of our community right here in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
As a 501(c) (3) public charity, Pathways Center’s bottom line is not revenue but the realization of our mission: helping infants and children with special challenges learn to eat, sit, walk, communicate, play, and move more independently, enabling them to more fully integrate into their homes, schools, and communities.
Through fees for services, grants from foundations, and personal donations, Pathways Center is able to maintain the highest quality of care with continuing education for therapists, clinical training for students, on-going clinical research, and state of the art technologies applied in therapy sessions.
